From apple to the big apple tree


            Born fifteen years ago, In a poor family, with imperfections. Unable to speak, mute.That was Mayra. A teenage girl, who grew up with parents who worked as apple farmer in the town of apples, Malang. Mayra’s life was very difficult. Especially with the shortage that she had. She couldn’t  go to school, play with other kids and could not enjoy her youth. But she was always patient. She believed that God had a wonderful plan.    

            When Mayra was seven years old. Every day she always learned to read and write from her sister, Meyra. And finally she able to communicated with her family by writing. Since she could write smoothly. Mayra spent the time to write everything. She liked to write her dream and her life story.

            “Dad hopes,  you'll have  apple orchards  yourself later. So we don’t  have to work in other people's  orchards.” said her father.

            Mayra nodded and soon she took out a pen and a book. And she wrote "Yes dad. But not only that. I would invite you, mother and Meyra to go to The Big Apple, New York Dad! I promise”

Mayra’s father just smiled after heard her answered.

            One day there was shocking news from Meyra. "Mayra, there is a competition to write a poem. This is a wonderful opportunity. I’m sure that yours could be the best Mayra.” Meyra said with great enthusiasm.

Mayra smiled at Meyra. She doubt. Was the poem of a mute girl could be the best?

"is it possible?" Asked Mayra

“Nothing is impossible in this world Mayra. Remember! believe in your mind and all will be real.” Answered Meyra.

One morning, a postman came to deliver a letter addressed to Mayra. Mayra was very surprised when she knew that her poem entitled "Believe And All Will Be Real" got first prize. Prove, poem writing contest, which followed by Mayra was a national level competition. And she will be the representative of Indonesia to go to New York followed the international level poem contest.

Departure to New York finally arrived. Mayra went accompanied by Meyra. Her mother and father only could pray for her success.

"Father Mother pray for me. If I win. The Prize, I would  buy Apple orchards. So we have own apple orchards.” Mayra wrote it on a paper.

“We always pray for you Mayra” said her mother.

Mayra’s ideals little materialized. She could go to the Big Apple, New York. But she, could not bring along her parents. She was determined to win and had dream to own apple orchards. In international contest, Mayra wrote a poem entitledApple Child”. The poem told the life story of her which was long, winding and difficult. But she believed that all her dreams will come true.

The will of God. Mayra’s poem became the first champion. And not only that, the poem turned evocative world. The poem, entitled apple child awaken all people not to give up on the living conditions.

“is this a dream Meyra?” Asked Mayra to Meyra.

No Mayra this is not a dream. But your dream materialize. we'll have apple orchards.” Said Meyra happily.

Since then a great many people knew Mayra as The Child from Apples Town, Mayra was able to change the world with the words. Shortage that she had, made her never been scared to dreamand and every one inspired by her. The writings of the first wrotten by Mayra had been recorded. And published. The book managed to be a best seller and was published into 50 languages ​​in the world.

Moral Value

Do not make the shortage as an excuse to not venture into a success. But make shortage as something that makes you excited. Never be afraid to dream. Because everything starts from a dream. Dream, Believe and Make it happened!!
